Like everywhere else, at iGB, we’ve been closely following the jailbreak community and waiting for the untethered jailbreak. This opens up the whole wide world of Cydia tweaks and apps that just make the iPhone an entirely amazing experience. Think of tweaks like NCSettings, Auxo, BiteSMS etc. Wow!

First, the basics.
Interestingly, and for the first time, jailbreak is now available for 22 devices! I think this jailbreak will be the most popular one – even more than Absinthe obviously. Here’s a sample list of devices that will be compatible:
- iPhones: 5, 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G
- iPads: 4, 3, 2, 1, Mini
- iPod Touch: all models (yeah, let’s keep it simple)
Compatible iOS version?
You’re going to have iOS 6.0, iOS 6.0.1 (iOS 6.0.2 for the A6 guys and iPad Mini) and the recently released iOS 6.1 And hey, did you know that iOS 6.1 is rapidly getting adopted among a lot of iDevice users. At this rate, this will become the fastest and the most popular iOS ever released (and the next one will obviously be iOS 7).
What You Need:
- A Mac, PC or Linux.
- (Mac ->10.5, PC – XP or later, Linux x_86 preferably)
- That USB cable, of course.
- The iOS devices.
